Supporting Anna to Achieve Her Goals

With the support of the Simply Helping North East Melbourne team, Anna has been building her daily living skills and growing her confidence to take part in social and recreational activities.

Recently, Anna has enjoyed local walks, a fun shopping trip with her support worker Jessica, and has rekindled her love of drawing. Her support team has also been helping her strengthen her community connections through gentle, consistent support.

Anna’s family have shared how much they’ve noticed her confidence growing, and how much they value the care and encouragement provided by the team at Simply Helping. Simply Helping Arthur to Pursue His Passions

Arthur’s love for AFL and soccer is more than just a hobby—it’s a way of life. As a dedicated fan, he follows Carlton in the AFL and Melbourne Victory in soccer. But Arthur isn’t content with just watching from the sidelines; he’s an active player at both his local football and soccer clubs. One of his greatest achievements came in 2023 when his football team, Parkside Football Club, won the Division 1 Grand Final.

Sport has become an important outlet for Arthur. It helps him manage his anxiety, stay physically fit, and has boosted his confidence and social engagement….

Mental Health & Wellbeing

Past experiences, isolation and depression can all have a negative impact on mental health. In these situations, it’s reassuring to have support you can rely on. Our support staff have helped vulnerable people determine their daily, weekly and monthly goals and implement strategies to achieve them. We have seen people thrive with the right support. We have one very astute consumer who can now proudly direct their own care and access the internet to research community activities of interest.

Someone to Listen

Living independently with a chronic disease is a challenge faced my some in our community. These challenges cause people to feel sadness and exhaustion. We understand the importance of being there not only to provide care services, but being there to provide moral support, encouragement and a friendly ear to listen. Over time, we have been privileged to witness people that feel supported, overcome their challenges and look to the future with hope and optimism.

Consistency

People living with an intellectual or developmental disability can experience feelings of fear and anxiety when accepting new people into their home. We understand this. By providing the one consistent carer for a consumer on the autism spectrum, we were able to build mutual trust and a great relationship was formed. Working harmoniously with their carer, our delightful consumer was able to develop the skills and knowledge to maintain a clean home environment and is now building their knowledge around good food choices.

Servicing a large part of the North East of Melbourne, we service Nillumbik, Darebin, Whittlesea, Banyule Shires and surrounds. Please contact us if you are unsure.

Can you provide services for new consumers or participants?

Generally, yes. Please contact us so we can learn about your requirements, including your preferences for services, days, and times.

Do you have staff on your team who speak different languages?

Yes, we celebrate cultural diversity and employ people from many backgrounds. We have several team members who are bi-lingual. If English isn’t your first language, please check with us to see if we have a team member who speaks your preferred language. *Tip: Did you know you can translate this website into the language most familiar to you? Do you accept children as well as adults for service?

At Simply Helping, we warmly welcome the opportunity to support children aged 9 and above, in line with NDIS guidelines. Rest assured, our team members have a valid Working With Children’s Check to ensure the highest standard of care when working with younger individuals.

How can I make changes to my service, and if I am on the NDIS do I need another service agreement?

Regarding aged care services, we are a service provider for aged care agencies who manage your package. For aged care service changes, you should contact your agency to request changes to your service.

NDIS participants can contact us directly via phone or email for service changes. If you have a coordinator, you may seek their assistance to submit service requests and changes. There is no need to sign another agreement as we will keep your change requests on your file.

What prices do you charge for NDIS?

We will charge fees under the guidance of the NDIS pricing guide, in effect at the time, at the price limit in the NDIS Support Catalogue for all supports.

Do you provide home nursing services?

Yes, we provide home nursing, including medication support, wound and skin care, continence assessments, catheter care and more.
