My Future, My Choice
Many seniors across the country are able to receive care in their own home thanks to government-subsidised packages available through My Aged Care.
For those living with disability, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is well within its final stages of rolling out. This means hundreds of thousands of Australians under the age of 65 now have funding for much needed supports and services.
This year’s Melbourne Seniors & Disability Expo ‘My Future, My Choice’ was a chance to showcase the many products and services available that assist older people and those with disability to live their life more independently, and help them plan for the future.
With Simply Helping as a proud sponsor, My Future, My Choice was set to be the biggest and most anticipated disability event on the 2019 calendar, and it didn’t disappoint.
- Featuring more than 200 exhibitors with products and services especially geared towards meeting the needs of seniors and people living with disability.
- NDIS presentations, including Question and Answer sessions, from a range of local speakers and organisations.
- Information sessions for seniors, including topics about accessing My Aged Care
- Entertainment
- Workshops, and more!
Simply Helping enjoyed the opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life. The large number of visitors provided a chance for our friendly team to engage with people and listen to their needs. Most importantly, it provided a chance to research. By listening, we were able to gain a better understanding of which services are in greater demand. Now we can take the time to reflect, reassess, and ensure that our in-home care services provide the best outcome.
Overall, the Melbourne Seniors & Disability Expo 2019 was productive, enjoyable, and educational. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
