Geelong and Barwon VIC
(Gulidjan, Gadubanud, Wathaurong)
Locally Owned
The friendly faces behind Simply Helping Geelong and Barwon are Harvey and Bridget Lang, who have lived in Torquay since 2010, after moving from the south west of the state.
Both Bridget and Harvey have devoted their life to helping, teaching, serving and caring for others.
In her 35 years working as a division 1 registered nurse, Bridget gained vast experience in the health care sector, including nursing, organising community health programs, and managing the day to day operations in regional hospitals.
Prior to moving to Torquay, Harvey was a teacher of physical education at a school in the state’s south west, as well as the local football coach, both as a player and non-player, for 20 years. After completing a business diploma, Harvey operated a successful food delivery service in Ocean Grove for 4 years.
Bridget and Harvey have three adult children who attend university and play local football in Geelong.
Personal Experience
When needing care for an elderly parent, Harvey and Bridget endured their own experience and frustrations with various care providers and carers, and quickly recognised a gap in the market. They saw a need for a care service in the local area that would be compatible with their own values, treat people with respect and dignity, as well as improve the emotional and physical well-being of others. So, in February 2014, Harvey and Bridget established Simply Helping Geelong and Barwon.
From humble beginnings and a team of two others, Simply Helping Geelong and Barwon has grown. Today it includes more than 120 carers and staff, and an administrative team of eight.

We also encourage personal choice, and actively support your input regarding your in-home care services.
Our Team
Combined, our management team has over 80 years’ experience in the care sector. We understand that the success of your in-home care experience relies heavily on the level of professionalism and empathy of our team members. That’s why we have stringent processes in place to ensure we only engage the best people to join the Simply Helping team. Recognising the strengths and skill set of each team member allows us to easily match them with your individual care needs, and helps to build a trusting relationship.
Most of our administrative team are also qualified carers. This experience gives them a valuable insight into the importance of successfully matching a carer to a recipient efficiently, to avoid any delays in care.
