Whether it’s a once off requirement, or help is needed on a regular basis, we can be there to ease the burden. Our cleaners are professional and can help to make daily living easier.

Disability Support

Our disability support workers invest valuable time to learn about your needs and routines to understand how you like to be supported. Making a strong connection and building trust is key to providing quality support, assistance and supervision for people living with disability. Our friendly support team is experienced and offers flexible support to meet your needs.

In-Home Respite Care

If you care for a loved one, we understand the demands of being available for them all the time. We also recognise that you may not have any time of your own, and need a break. We offer in home respite care for your loved one so that you can tend to some of your own needs. It’s important to stay connected with your local community. However, sometimes we may need a helping hand. Our community access service provides assistance to ensure you arrive safely at your destination, and that you also have the support you need to participate. Community access may include medical appointments, shopping, day programs, special events, social gatherings and more.

Simply Helping Central Highlands and Djerriwarrh is locally owned and operated by Steve and Cathy, long-term Ballarat residents with strong ties to the community. Steve was born and raised in Ballarat, while Cathy brings valuable experience from her background in nursing education. Together, they combine over 20 years of experience in care with a genuine commitment to providing services that are compassionate, respectful and dependable.

Being local means they know the region well, from homes in town to properties further afield. For the people we support, this brings peace of mind that care is never far away and delivered by a team who are friendly, reliable and easy to communicate with. Since 2018, Steve and Cathy have led Simply Helping Central Highlands and Djerriwarrh with a focus on providing in-home care that families can trust.

Simply Helping Central Highlands and Djerriwarrh was recognised by VALiD (Victorian Advocacy League for Individuals with Disability) as the top service provider for outstanding support during the COVID pandemic. Are you NDIS registered?

Yes, Simply Helping Central Highlands and Djerriwarrh is a registered NDIS provider supporting people in Ballarat, the Central Highlands and Djerriwarrh regions. All our support workers hold current NDIS Worker Screening Checks, so you can feel confident your care is safe and professional.

We provide flexible disability support tailored to individual goals and needs, while also supporting families and carers to make daily life easier.

Do you provide aged care services?

Yes. We provide aged care services to support older people to live safely and comfortably at home. If you are funded through a My Aged Care Package, we work in partnership with registered providers in the region so you can still access our local team. We can also provide services privately if you are arranging your own care.

All team members are fully qualified and trained to support older people with dignity, safety and compassion.

Who do you provide support services to?

We provide support to people of all ages through in-home care and community-based services. This includes NDIS participants, people supported by TAC or WorkCover, and anyone arranging private care services. Many people also choose our services for lifestyle support such as cleaning, gardening, shopping, or pet care.

All our support workers are qualified and hold the required checks and certifications.

How soon can you commence my services?

We know that when support is needed, it’s often needed quickly. In most cases, we can start services within 48 hours. If your situation is urgent, let us know and we’ll do everything we can to arrange support as soon as possible.

Can we have our service at the same time each week or fortnight?

Yes, absolutely you can. Many people find this convenient, and we simply arrange a suitable time with you and our support worker for a regular time slot.

Can I request specific days and times for my support worker to visit?

Absolutely. We’ll work with you to arrange visits on the days and times that suit you best. Wherever possible, we’ll also make sure the same support worker visits regularly, so you can build a comfortable and consistent routine.

Will I receive the same carer each week?

Yes, the same carer will tend to you each week. If circumstances prevent the same carer from attending, we will provide a replacement carer as a once-off service for you.

What if my usual support worker is unavailable or unwell?

If your regular support worker is ever unavailable, we’ll arrange a qualified replacement, so your care continues without interruption. Your continuity of care is always our priority.

If I cancel my service, do I still have to pay?

We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel a service. This helps us manage schedules fairly for both support workers and the people we care for. If less notice is given, the full service fee may still be charged to your funding provider.

We do understand that unexpected situations can happen, and we’ll always take circumstances beyond your control into consideration.

Do you supply cleaning products and equipment with your domestic cleaning services?

We ask that you provide basic cleaning supplies such as products, cloths or sponges, a vacuum cleaner and a mop. This helps prevent any risk of cross-contamination between homes and ensures the products used are the ones you prefer.

Our support workers will bring their own PPE to ensure both your safety and theirs while providing domestic assistance.
